The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL made their way into the market yesterday at 9:00 AM PST. Along with the both smartphones Google also launched some of their in-house range of hardware products.
After the release of iPhone 8 and iPhone X, all the Android enthusiasts were badly waiting for the launch of Google Pixel 2. Seems like Google haven’t disappointed their fans with the new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Both the Pixel devices are almost same in terms of technical specifications but mainly varies in terms of shape and size.
The pre-order for both the phones have been started from the yesterday’s midnight and will be arriving in India in November. The phone will be sold via 1000 stores offline and will be exclusively available online via Flipkart.
Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Specifications
Just like the last this year too Google has made almost no changes in terms of technical specification of both phones. Both the devices run on an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked at 1.9 GHz. Both are equipped with 4 GB of RAM and comes with Adreno 540 GPU. Of course, both the phones run on Google’s latest Android Oreo (8.0) and will be first to get all the latest updates.
The Pixel 2 features a 5-inch Cinematic 127-mm full-HD (1080×1920) display, while the Pixel 2 XL features a 6-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440) P-OLED at 538ppi with 18:9 ratio. Both the displays also come equipped with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
In terms of camera, just like last year both the phones have a highest rated smartphone camera ever. Both the phones sports a 12.2-Megapixel shooter at the back with f/1.8 aperture and optical and electronic image stabilization. On the front is an 8-Megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The cool thing to notice here is that both the phones can shoot in portrait mode without having a dual camera setup as we have seen this year. Google has given a great influence on it machine learning technology and applied it on the single-camera setup of Google Pixel 2 to get some beautiful and perfectly lighted shot. Moreover, both the front and back camera can shoot in Portrait mode so that you can get some bokeh effect in your selfie’s too. Both the devices have got a mind-blowing score of 98 by DxoMark which was 89 in last year Google Pixel.
The handsets come in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. The Pixel 2 has a 2700mAh battery, while the Pixel 2 XL has a 3520mAh battery.
