Contrary to popular belief, meditation isn’t just for people in yoga classes or those practicing religion. It’s actually quite a beneficial stress reducer in everyday life for anyone for our health. According to the Mayo Clinic meditation is “a way to reduce stress by focusing your attention and eliminating the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind”. Okay, but when and where is there time for that? Another misconception is that meditation is a timely process. One that requires a decent portion of your day for you to successfully reflect and de-stress. Wrong again.
48 percent of Americans say stress has negative effects on both their personal and professional life regarding their health. 42 percent say that they don’t do enough to manage their stress. However, taking 15 minutes out of every day is all you need to meditate and lower your stress levels for health.
With research from The American Psychological Association, this infographic was created to explain why meditation is important and how to do it literally while you’re at work. If done correctly, taking time out of your day to meditate can lead to a more productive day and better levels of overall happiness.
