Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched their next generation of flagship killer – OnePlus 5T globally at an event in New York on Thursday.
The smartphone is the big brother of the OnePlus 5 which was launched earlier this year. The OnePlus 5T offers and an improved display, camera, and better clock speed. Something which is special about this upgrade is the price. The price of the smartphone is same as OnePlus 5.
OnePlus 5T – Specifications And Features
The memory and chipset in OnePlus 5T are same as the old OnePlus 5 but main changes feature new design, improved camera, better display and a super fast fingerprint sensor at the back.
With an all-body Anodized Aluminium build, the build of the OnePlus 5T looks similar to the OnePlus 5, but this time the fingerprint sensor has moved to the back. It has a dual camera setup at the back with the fingerprint scanner placed in the middle.
As expected and already confirmed by many leaks. The OnePlus 5T features 6.01 inch full Optic AMOLED panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has a 2.5D curved glass on top.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz coupled with Adreno 540 and 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
The smartphone will run Android Nougat out of the box, with company’s latest version of Oxygen OS on top.
The OnePlus 5T comes in two storage variant i.e. 64GB and 128GB. Just like the previous smartphones of OnePlus the storage on the OnePlus 5t cannot be expanded.
The phone has got a dual camera setup at the back. There’s a 16 megapixel wide-angle Sony IMX 398 sensor with f/1.7 aperture paired with a 20 megapixel Sony IMX 376K sensor with f/1.7. The f/1.7 aperture on both the lens means that the phone can also perform better in low light conditions. It can shoot in wide-angle, portrait mode and pro-mode with support for 2X optical zoom. Up front, there’s a 16-megapixel selfie-shooter with a f/2.0 aperture. The front camera can shoot videos up to 1080p at 30fps.
It is a dual-SIM smartphone which supports all major 4G LTE bands with 4G VoLTE. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, and OTG. The phone has a Type C Port along with a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack which we are glad to see in a 2017 flagship smartphone.
The smartphone pack in a 3,300mAh non-removable battery with support for fast charging. The phone can easily last for over a day on a single charge. With the OnePlus’s in-house technology called Dash Charge, you will easily get a day’s power in half an hour.
Variants And Pricing
The 6GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage variant of OnePlus 5T is priced at Rs. 32,999/- and the 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage variant is priced at Rs. 37,999/-.
The OnePlus 5T offers a premium design, solid hardware, and a long-lasting battery. It also offers a dual-camera setup with a high-resolution selfie-shooter. Currently, the OnePlus smartphones are one of the best selling smartphones on the market. They offer high specification at such competitive price that one cannot resist buying.
